1．OSS软件功能描述
OSS软件功能描述：OSS R8.1软件包分为基本软件包和可选软件包，基本软件包是每个OSS系统都拥有的功能，而可选软件包则是根据不同情况可选的软件功能。OSS R8.1基本软件包包含下列功能：

每套OSS都具备NOX、MRR、BHW、BAM、OPS、AXA、PSA、WTP功能，广州和深圳的OSS除了具备这些功能外，还具备BNSI-A功能。另外，购买了FMX（Fault Management eXpert）,在深圳试用。
2．OSS菜单功能描述
在Open-windows 的空白桌面按住鼠标右键，可以看到OSS主菜单。各地网管菜单可能会稍有差别，但主要内容是相同的，大致如下：
OSS大致分四个部分：Radio network management，对蜂窝移动电话系统的管理；AXE10 management，进行性能测量、故障管理、AXE10软件管理；非AXE10管理，如报警管理；TOOLS，使日常工作更容易。
相关功能简介：
GNIP:是一个通用的图形和逻辑描述工具，为其他应用程序所使用，如故障管理和小区网络管理。GNIP在地图上以逻辑视角实时动态地显示网络信息，可以在一个用户界面同时显示来自几个应用的网络信息。GNIP的主要功能：以不同的视角和图层来描述对象，描述和处理地理数据，与GNIP的应用通信，与其他应用通信。(可视化界面形式显示网络信息)
Fault Management：故障管理功能的目的是管理来自外部网元的告警，这些告警被确认、翻译、转换为告警记录保存在系统中。用户通过基于故障管理的各种应用来访问这些信息。
TMOS Alarm Adaptation (TAA)：改编错误报告，将选择的报告作为内部系统告警转给其他故障管理功能。
Translation Map Editor (TME)：以图形用户界定义或更新告警文本。
Alarm Text Routing (ATR)：定义告警文本到不同的输出设备，标准的输出设备有打印机、文件、UNIX-mail等，也可以是客户指定的可用设备。ATR支持对告警的自动确认及确认的标准。
FM Alarm Viewer (FMAV)：使用者用Alarm Viewer来查看告警，Alarm Viewer包括基于图形用户界面的三个应用：Alarm Status Matrix, Alarm List Viewer and Alarm Log Browser ，也可使用命令查找告警。Alarm Status Matrix以压缩视图的方式管理一个网络中的多个对象；用Alarm List Viewer用户可以查看当前告警的详情，也可以处理这些告警；用Alarm Log Browser可以在告警记录中查询特定的告警并对这些告警进行统计。
Configuration Management：
Celluar Network Administration(CNA)：在OSS R8.1中CNA提供以下功能：
· Retrieve information from a cellular mobile network (NW) 提取蜂窝移动网络的信息
· Adjust the information stored in the CNA information model of the CNA database with the real NW configuration 以实际网络配置调整CNA数据库中的CNA信息模型
· View the information model, both in text lists in the base window and as a graphical map in the Graphical Cell Configuration (GCC) (via GNIP) 以文本或图形方式查看信息模型
· Plan large changes to the NW configuration (as addition and deletion of cells and modification of data in existing cells) in advance without having to change the real NW 提前规划对网络设置进行大的更改，而不是对实际网络的更改
· Check the consistency of the real or planned NW in order to preserve the consistency of the cellular network 通过检查实际网络或规划网络是否一致，来保证网络的一致性。
· Update the real NW with planned changes 以规划的更改来更新实际的网络
· Create backups of the NW configuration 创建网络设置的备份
· Print the parameters of the information model to file or printer 打印信息模型的参数
Cna interface: CNAI是命令行方式的一种应用，实现CNA数据库和外部系统之间的数据交换。利用CNAI可进行的操作有：从CNA输出小区数据；输入小区数据到CNA；输入外部小区数据。
Radio Network Optimization (RNO)：RNO is a collection of several radio network optimization applications.
FAS&FOX:
FAS：改进频率规划解决质量问题(优化)；寻找空闲频率增加或扩展小区；管理某个区域干扰电平；改频后进行核实。
FOX：功能有
· Proposing Frequency Changes in a Change Order Recommendation Report 根据推荐更改顺序规划频率更改
· Executing Frequency Changes. The changes are listed in a Change Order Evaluation Report 执行频率更改
· Reallocation Log 频率再分配日志
· Reallocation Search which creates a Change Order Recommendation Report, to which it is possible to make modifications, if the recording has been started as a Recommendation type. 查找推荐更改顺序报告是否需要修正
· Reallocation Execution, which executes the reallocations in the Change Order Recommendation Report, if the recording has been started as a Recommendation or Automatic type. 频率再分配的执行。
NCS&NOX:
NCS：帮助用户设置适当的相邻小区关系，使切换决定更可靠和正确；提高通话质量减少掉话率；一个OSS可以处理150BCCH，2000个CELL；用于查找漏定的相邻小区关系，定义新建小区的相邻关系。
NOX：对NCS的加强，使之更智能化。
MRR：收集和分析无线网络的统计数据，用于：分析问题小区的无线特性；管理特定区域的无线特性；更改后进行确认和评估。
TET：找到热点小区的合适位置，评估未来小区开通后有多少业务量。
The RNO applications are defined and supervised from the RNO Main window. The OSS recordings communicate with corresponding BSC applications according to the following table : (OSS应用与BSC中对应的应用)
AXE10 SW Management (AXS)：提供网络操作者一个AXE软件管理工具，AXS应用模块包括两个应用单元，提供的功能如下：
· Software Presentation provides the user with a convenient tool for obtaining an overview of the Software Units (SWUs) and Program Corrections (PCs) in the Network Elements (NEs). 提供给使用者一个方便的工具，用来获得网元中软件单元和PCs(Set of MML commands performing corrective actions in the AXE)的概况。
· The Software Distribution functionality provides the user with a convenient tool for transferring files between Distribution Media, the UNIX workstation and the NEs. 提供给使用者一个方便的工具，用来在介质、UNIX工作站和网元之间传送文档。
AXE Software Activation Support (AXA) provides the following function:
· Software Activation Support allows the user to automate activation and deactivation of software in the NEs, for example to perform Remote Function Change. 允许使用者激活或去激活网元中的软件功能。AXA是一个附加的应用单元。
Base Station Management (BSM)：包括

· Base Station Hardware Management (BHW) ：使用者通过BHW以图形化用户界面提取和显示一个基站中与MO相关的硬件信息，这些MO被叫做Replacement Units (RU)。使用者很容易以RU的revision and logical model来识别它。对于RBS 2000可以提取显示the logical-ID, serial number, and physical position of an RU，BHW只用来从网络中提取信息，而不能对网络进行修改。灵活的搜寻工具可以在全网范围内查找指定的硬件设备。另外，使用者对硬件对象加入自己的信息作为标注或评论，也可以手工添加对RUs 的介绍，被称为MRUs。
· Base Station Software Management (BSW)：以集中方式来处理BTS软件，以软件包Software Packages (SWPs)向BTSs加载load软件。SWPs从磁盘拷入BSW存在UNIX文件系统中，之后前转到与OSS相连的BSC中，最后从BSC传到所属的BTS。
Performance Management：
Statistical Data Mart (SDM)：NWS, SDM是一种新的数据模式，设计用来快速提取性能测量数据(performance data)。SDM是OSS的可选功能。功能如下：
· Is structured for fast retrieval of performance data. 快速提取性能测量数据
· Is reachable from other OSS applications through an SQL interface. 通过SQL接口，为其他应用提供数据。
· Can, for example, be used as a basis for decisions. 为决定做参考无线网络的日常维护，网络规划及网络优化都需要根据一些数据做决定，要获得这些数据就要对网元进行performance measurements，SDM可以帮助运营者完成下列任务：
· Planning and dimensioning the network.
· Monitoring and optimizing the network, regarding network performance or improvement of the quality of service.
· Maintaining or improving the quality in the network.
· Operating the network cost-effectively.
NWS Analyser (NWSA)：为用户提供通用及指定的报告，这些报告为使用者分析无线网络和交换系统的运行、性能表现提供支持。报告是由网络搜集和存储在SDM 的数据库产生的，database (bsddb and csddb databases). 系统用BusinessObjects (BO) User Module and WebIntelligence生成和提供报告。提供的报告分成几组,Overview report ：了解网络概况；Planning report：dimensioning the network 网络计算；Handover report：了解切换的性能；Dropped calls report：了解哪里有掉话及原因；Management report ：从非技术的角度，了解整个网络概况，使人容易理解。
PM Traffic Recording (PMR)：提供一套观测无线网络性能的工具，观测业务情况如：连接的建立，切换的执行及连接的释放。功能有启动对一个网元的业务记录，处理记录的信息，以报告和图形的方式表现处理的数据。记录的数据包括事件和测量数据The recorded data includes events and measurement data.
The NEs in CME 20 and CMS 40 involved in the recording functions are shown in Table 1
OSS Tools：
Command Handling (CHA)：与外部网元进行Man-Machine Language (MML)通讯，包括的功能有：
· Command sessions and presentation of immediate responses 命令绘话及时响应
· Presentation of delayed responses 延迟响应
· Handling of command files and system command files 处理命令文件和系统命令文件
· Time activation of command files and system command files 定时激活命令文件和系统命令文件
· Retrieval of information from the log for commands, responses, and spontaneous reports 从log file 中提取信息
· Handling of spontaneous reports 处理自发产生的报告
File Handling Application (FHA)：提供在TFS(Transfer File Store)与外部系统External Systems (ES)之间进行文件传输。
EMTO Element Management Tools： 包括功能如下
· Spontaneous Reports Manager (SRM), to set up subscriptions of spontaneous printouts sent by the network elements. 订阅网元自发产生的的输出
· Command Log Search (CLS), to search for commands issued from EMT to the network elements, as well as the corresponding responses and spontaneous reports sent by the network elements to EMT. 查找从EMT发向网元的命令及对应的响应，从网元发向EMT的自发报告
· Activity Manager (AM), to schedule execution of MML files, system command files, EME scripts, or OPS scripts. 计划执行MML文件，系统命令文件，EME脚本文件或OPS脚本文件。
· Element Management Start Application (EMSA), to execute MML files, system command files, EME scripts, or OPS scripts. EMSA provides a user-friendly interface for Command File Interpreter (CFI) and Element Management Engine (EME).
· Telnet Gateway (TGW), offers a transparent communication channel between a Telnet client, for example the command handler WinFIOL, and a network element. TGW also includes functionality for updating the LDAP database.
· Browser Interface (BRS), providing a connection for OSS applications like FM and OPS towards ALEX.

· WinFIOL, a command handling application integrated into OSS.
· Active Library Explorer (ALEX), an AXE documentation library accessible from WinFIOL, SRM, and CLS in a context sensitive manner.
OMC Flashboard (OFB)：辅助管理者监控特定OSS资源的利用情况，如X.25 link load, DB store, file store utilization 。帮助管理者找出局域网中不同的工作站上激活的OSS应用有多少个，以决定是否可以再启动一个OSS应用而不影响整个网络/OSS的性能
Celluar Network Activity Manager (CNAM)：
查看网管系统中在运行或定时/周期运行的各种任务。如在PMR中启动了一个MTR的测量任务，则在CNAM中可以看到这一任务。
OSS Administration：
TMOS Basic Services (TBS)：通过软件接口实现诸如error reporting, trace, restart, and handling of communication protocols等，设计为在UNIX环境下满足基本服务的要求。功能如下：
Process Management Service (PMS) Runtime 进程管理服务
· Start, restart, stop, and supervision of application processes.
· Reception and logging of event and error reports and their distribution among subscribers.
· Trace services
· User interface to PMS.
· Plugin to IST that handles process registration and deregistration of processes during application installation.
Inter Process Communication Service (CAP_IPC) runtime 进程间通信服务
· Directory Server for interprocess communication.
· Interprocess communication (CAP-IPC)
Parameter Database (PDB) Runtime 参数数据库
· Server process used for parameter modifications.
· Manual update support program.
· Parameter file syntax check program.
· Plugin to IST that handles creation, removal, and modification of parameters, installation of parameter files during installation of applications. The plugin also implements an interface that enables IST to read parameters during installation.
